lyrics

All addictive drugs release large amounts of dopamine in the brain. But so does good food, and drink, and sex, and social pleasure, and money. Everything you want releases dopamine and you want it because it releases dopamine. Things are important and valuable only if they activate your dopamine neurons.

If I could make a wish I would dream you back.
I do count the days back to the time we met.
I force myself to make it through the day.
I haven't heard from you. Is there anything to say?

Love, love, love.
A rush of dopamine.
The hope you're building up
comes from your childhood dreams.

Even if you cry and you try to turn back time
you're not the only one who lies awake tonight.

The paradise in me is now a wasted land.
A firestorm has raged which I don't understand.
Was there any chance? Or was it just in my head?
It's hard to rest my mind with that burden on my chest.

Even if you cry and you try to turn back time
you're not the only one who lies awake tonight.
Get back on the track!
Get back on the track!
Get back on the track!
Get back on the track!

Love, love, love.
A rush of dopamine.
The hope you're building up
comes from your childhood dreams.

Even if you cry and you try to turn back time
you're not the only one who lies awake tonight.
You keep on keeping' on.
You keep on keeping' on.
Get back on the track!
Get back on the track!
Get back on the track!
